Touchy Touchy

Watch a well-acted movie scene or play with lots of interaction. Write all of the character names down one column, then make one column for touching and one column for being touched. Have your child make a tally mark by each character’s name in the appropriate column every time the character is touched or touches someone else. At the end of the scene, tabulate the results. Can s/he tell who the dominant character was just by how often they were the one doing the touching? Try it with another TV show or movie.

Extra Credit: Visit the playground or a restaurant with your child. Do the same dominance patterns appear in the real world?
